Mini Case Study:
Desert Mirage High School
The Customer’s Need: The High School had 200 10th graders who were operating at a 5th grade Math level. Desert Mirage desperately needed to help these far below grade level students to catch up and succeed at grade level work.
The BrainX Solution: The BrainX Digital Tutor did a complete assessment of each student. The digital tutor used the assessment results to pull lessons, which are aligned to state standards, from a large database and then organized the lessons into individual coursework for each student. The digital tutor then molded the way the lessons were delivered to optimize learning for each student. After the material was learned the digital tutor reinforced the learned material on different days until each student demonstrated mastery.
This group also struggled with self defeating mindset issues like "I can't do Math" or "I am a naturally bad test taker". The Tutor implemented a strategy to improve each student's belief in their ability to learn any subject and to be expert test takers.
The Results: The students started the course work in October of 2008. In May of 2009, the students completed the final section of their math coursework with was a course in probability. The average final exam score in Probability was 85%.

How It Works
The BrainX system uses a research based accelerated learning approach to mold the delivery of the content to the needs of each learner, providing a one-to-one learning experience. Each student is taken down the fastest path from their current knowledge level to absolute mastery of the content.
First, students take the online BrainX PAS (Pre Assessment Service). This identifies which students are likely to fail the CAHSEE, and should therefore be enrolled in the BrainX CAHSEE Tutorials.
Next, the BrainX system builds a customized course plan based on each student’s pre-assessment within the BrainX CAHSEE Tutorials. At this point students, with help from the BrainX Digital Tutor, can navigate through the approved coursework until they have mastered it.
