CD-ROM Product Support FAQ's - Installation

I put the CD in my computer but nothing happens

After inserting the Digital Learning System Installation CD into your CD-ROM drive, a CD menu should appear within a few seconds. If you do not see the CD menu pop up there may be a few reasons

Your CD-ROM drive is malfunctioning. Try inserting a CD that you have tested in another computer or CD player and you know works properly. If the CD works in other equipment but not in the computer you are trying to install the software onto, the drive may be malfunctioning.

The auto-run ability is not enabled in your Windows. The Installation CD has a feature that automatically launches the CD menu. If you do not see this menu, browse to the CD and select "MenuBox.exe" to launch the CD menu. You can also select "Setup.exe" to begin installation. This generally affects Windows 98 users only.

You have an operating system that does not meet our system requirements. The software will only operate on computers using the Windows operating system versions 98 or newer. If you are using a Macintosh or other operating system, you cannot install the software. Macintosh users can read in system requirements what configurations are needed.

Adding a new Digital Learning Guide

It`s easy to add a new Digital Learning Guide to your DLS!

First, check to see if the version of DLS you have is older than the one that comes with your new Digital Learning Guide. If they are the same or your installed version is newer, simply insert the new CD into your CD-ROM drive and select the "Install a Learning Guide (if DLS is already installed)" option and follow the prompts. After you restart and launch the DLS, you can access your new Digital Learning Guide and existing Learning Guides by using the scroll bar that appears above the Click Here to Study Now image on the main screen.

If your version of DLS is older than the one with your new Digital Learning Guide, you should uninstall the older version and install the new one and your new Learning Guide. You can uninstall from your Windows Control Panel by selecting Add/Remove Programs. Install the latest version and follow the onscreen prompts.
