Browser Use and the BrainX System

It is important to note that either Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or above on PC, or Safari on Mac OS should be used. Unsupported versions or different types of browsers, may not display or function properly with the BrainX Digital Tutor application. Please make sure the browser used to connect with the BrainX system is one of these. Otherwise, BrainX cannot guarantee a satisfactory user experience.

Browser Settings and the BrainX System

Pop-Up Blockers
Pop up blockers may interfere with BrainX system functions. Please make sure that all pop-up blocker activity is disabled. This can include computer security systems, spam filters and browser settings. Common pop-up blocker software is also included in Yahoo, Google and other Toolbar add-ons. If unsure about a computer's pop-up blocker settings, try this control key command. Click and hold the control key when clicking a link. Holding the control key when clicking a link disables any pop-up blocker software.

Cookies

The BrainX system uses http cookies for authentication and user identification within the application only. Please ensure that your browser, any security, anti-virus or anti-spyware software will accept cookies from the BrainX domain. The most obvious symptom of a computer not allowing cookies is a completely or partially blank screen. Other various symptoms can be observed but are too varied to describe. BrainX cookies must be allowed prior to log-in, to ensure a satisfactory user experience. Please make sure that all computers used will consider the BrainX domain a 'trusted source' and that BrainX cookies are permitted.
Internet Explorer and Safari have step-by-step instructions on how to allow cookies from trusted sources either in their Help sections or with on-line support sites.
